Job Opening: Postdoctoral Researcher with Edgar Dobriban
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The University of Pennsylvania is seeking a candidate for a Postdoctoral Researcher position under the supervision of Professor Edgar Dobriban (Department of Statistics and Data Science, Wharton School, and Department of Computer and Information Science, School of Engineering and Applied Science).
The position is designed to be a career-building step for new scholars. The primary focus is for the scholar to develop her/his research program. The research is expected to be in one of several broad areas: statistical machine learning, statistical problems in AI, large language models, etc.
Successful candidates will prepare and submit papers to top journals in statistics, and top conferences in machine learning, statistics, and artificial intelligence. The candidates will also present their research at conferences in these fields.
The position will continue for a year, with possibility of renewal pending available funds. A competitive stipend will be provided. The start date is flexible.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should show outstanding capacity for research, and an excellent publication record, in statistics, machine learning, electrical engineering, computer science, data science and/or artificial intelligence. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in statistics, computer science, electrical engineering, applied math, or a related field from an accredited institution.
