Statement of Purpose (Limit 750 words)

Describe your reasons for undertaking graduate study in statistics and data science. Include what motivated your interest and what specifically does Wharton offer in your area of interest. You may provide the names of any of our faculty that work in your area of interest.

Statement of Experience (Limit 750 words)

Describe challenges you may have faced in access to pre-baccalaureate and undergraduate training and how those challenges have impeded your preparation for doctoral level work. Express how your participation in the Master’s Bridge Program at Wharton’s Department of Statistics and Data Science would help advance statistical research and our understanding of complex issues which are reflected in the expertise of our faculty and are of vital concern to society.

Letters of Reference

Three letters of recommendation are required from faculty who have insights into your academic preparation and achievements, goals, capabilities, interest in research, and readiness for graduate study.

Transcript

Copies of unofficial transcripts of all post-secondary institutions must be uploaded to the online application, including both undergraduate coursework as well as any graduate coursework. Admitted Bridge Fellows must provide an official transcript with the conferral of the bachelor’s degree before matriculating.

Timeline for Applications, Admission, and Matriculation

  • The deadline for applying is February 29, 2024 at 11:59 PM (EDT).
  • Initial admissions decisions will be communicated in April 2024.
  • The program begins with an orientation and skills assessment (for course assignment) in August 2024.
