Job Opening: Full-time or Part-time Lecturer Position

DESCRIPTION

The Department of Statistics and Data Science of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, is seeking candidates for a full-time or part-time lecturer for the 2026-2027 academic year.

All teaching will take place on the University’s campus in Philadelphia, PA. The position will start in Fall 2026 with an initial appointment of one year with a possible extension of up to three years based on satisfactory performance. A competitive salary will be provided.

In addition to their teaching role, lecturers will be a welcome part of the Department’s research community, including attending department seminars and potentially collaborating with department faculty and doctoral students.

Note that lecturers are not eligible for tenure and do not have voting rights in the department or the school. The position may be renewed based on the needs of the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates are expected to have strong knowledge of statistics and data science. Further, as excellence in teaching is the primary criteria for this position, applicants must have outstanding communication skills, along with an interest in teaching undergraduate and/or MBA students. Applicants must have a degree from an accredited institution; Ph.D. is preferred.
